Alex`s Restaurant in Goose Creek

Always been a favorite of mine! One of the only places around to get some honest to goodness home cooked food. Fried squash... what? Omelets to scream about! Hamburger steak and fish all amazing! This is home cooking at its best! The wait staff is like family. Be aware, Sunday mornings are very busy, and there usually is a wait. But it’s so worth it.

Breakfast as it should be! Simple, real, quality home cookin taste. Reminds me of a mom and pop diner in the tiny country town I used to live in. The atmosphere and hospitality did as well! Will be back regularly!

Busy place. Very friendly, attentive staff. The breakfast we had was very well prepared and abundant. I recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a good meal. I've only had breakfast there, I'm kinda lazy in the mornings, but I'll bet the rest of their fare is good as well.

Alex is a great place for large group. Our group had over 10 people. All the food came out together. So everyone could eat at the same time. Service for our group was excellent. the waitress made sure everyone was well cared. Coffee is very good and the waitress made sure our cups were fill all the way until the end.

Breakfast for dinner is always popular. The food was good and service was fully Covid appropriate.

Breakfast was great! I had the combo special. It came with 3 pancakes, two eggs, and a meat. I'd definitely go again.

Food was good. Nothing special at all about the decor of the restaurant. It needs a remodeling update. Although I did find the church pews were a nice touch. Waiter and staff were very friendly. Still wouldn't go out of my way to go there though.

Down home country cooking, great variety, family atmosphere. Great people. Will be back again.

Had lovely breakfast. Particularly impressed with the precautions they are taking with Covid19. Cleaning, masks, social distancing, no ketchup bottles, salt shakers, etc on tables (single packs used), protection of food area, pay at table,etc.etc. cream and sugar for my coffee brought in my own personal plastic glass, Well done Alex's!

Sydney was a really sweet waitress. They had a packed house this morning. We had to seat ourselves. There was a little bit of a wait to be assisted but was fine from there. We did have to wait about 20 minutes after our order was placed to get our food but it was tasty once it got there. They do have a sign for help wanted for multiple positions so given that they were sort handed and very busy, the wait could have been worse.

Its just not as good as it used to be. Cissy is great. But they changed the ham in the omelets and its not a good taste. Quality is lacking.

My wife loves it so we go often. The food is great. We especially love going when it's not busy but don't mind waiting.

We go often and I choose from a limited items I like (my boyfriend enjoys it more, but he gets the same thing over again) for the price, which I think is a bit too high, there should be better options.

Awesome hometown eatery, I will definitely will be going back while in town.

Nice old fashioned diner. Nothing fancy, but very reasonable prices and great food. Bottomless coffee and really friendly servers. A real gem in Goose Creek.

GREAT local diner. Down home cooking goodness. Country fried steak and gravy like it should be. everything we ordered was perfect.

Goose Creek at it's finest. Small town dining and family atmosphere that makes you feel like you grew up here even if you're a transplant. Love Alex's it's one of our favorites.

My 1st time there I heard ever bodyelse was enjoyin it and it was pretty good. the staff was very nice they answered my questions. The flounder was super fresh

It's very affordable and the food and their specials are great the staff are friendly and always there seeing if you need anything else

They have the best grilled flounder I have ever eaten. The flavor is so good I don't even use their tarter sauce. Must try.

Grabbed a late lunch there yesterday and was sure glad that I did! Food and service were both great!

Good southern comfort food, my favorite is the pork chops grilled or fried and the collards. Good place for breakfast but unless you go early or late the place gets packed for breakfast.

It was my first time in this restaurant and the attention and food was excellent! I will return again

Staff was super friendly and welcoming, this was my first time there and I will be coming back. Good size portions and not too expensive. Reminded me of home cooking!

Food and service are great! Bring your own salt shaker if you use more than one small packet of salt!( Thanks to covid 19 )

service was good, but our eggs we asked for scrambled but not cooked thoroughly.

I also went here a year ago and the good was subpar. Went back meat was bad disgusting and fries were soggy. Two other tables had people so it wasn't like they were busy. Couldn't eat my food.Manager did take it off my bill. That was the upside. Won't go back. I am not giving it a third try.

it's a time capsule disguised as a restaurant. when i step in, i feel like i'm in 1970's Arkansas, everything from the decor/atmosphere to the food they serve is just so... old-fashioned. it's somewhat delicious, yes, if you're really hungry but the food really isn't of best quality either and it's just slapped in the microwave. cold and overly salty, cheapest batter used it feels and tastes like fried airthey have a hard time getting sodas conisstently right as well.their menu also sucks. it looks like it was designed by a 3 year old using PowerPoint. at least service is very friendly, though :)

Holy cow this place is great!! It's good ole country cooking at it's best. I've only been here for breakfast and lunch but it's always been amazing, very satisfying. Service is great with the entire staff being very friendly and helpful. Give them a shot. It might not look like it but this place is seriously that good!

This is my first time in here. It reminds me of a Jersey diner but the food is truly Southern. They serve breakfast all day!! Outside of breakfast, the menu reminds me of what my mom would make for dinner though the week. Simple meals but delicious. Today I had fried founder, fried green tomatoes, and string beans. The meals come with Texas toast or cornbread bu I passed because I doubled up on the fried food but it was SO GOOD!! The portions are generous. I appreciate the "Little Alex" menu. It's not a kid's menu but allows people to order smaller portions at a reduced price. My regular meal was $9.98 and $6.98 with the smaller portion. I have leftovers and I'm too full for the delicious looking dessert.There is plenty of parking and it's a good place for families with children. You can eat in, take out, and call ahead. The staff is very friendly. I'll definitely be back. :😊

Great place been going here for decades. Needs some ultra low to no sugar/carb dinners/plates options for us crazy people.

Love our n'hood Alex's. First night dining room open from COVID, the staff was awesome. Tables were distanced. Service and food are as we remembered it.

Rated highly on the must do restaurants and it was so good, we came two out of the three days we visited the area. This place gets busy, but the staff seems to work seamlessly together. Great job.

Where to start? The flounder, awesome, light and flakey. The hamburger steak smothered in brown gravy and onions, absolutely wonderful. The country fried pork chops, delicious. The service was great. Food, hot and delicious. We will certainly be frequenting here from now on.

The place was packed! We waited for about 45 to 50 for our order to be prepared and delivered to our table. It was worth the wait. The waitress was friendly and nice! The food was the best I have ever had here this trip. I will be going back. You should give them a visit too. The home cooking here is fabulous! Love this place!

Oh my goodness!! This is my first time coming to Alex's Restaurant and I had a pleasurable experience. The food was amazing and the staff was exceptionally nice!!! CARLEEN is an amazing waitress!!!
